Programs & Services

Boys & Girls Club programs focus on Five Core Development Areas:

  • Character and Leadership Development
  • Education and Career Development
  • Health and Life Skills
  • The Arts
  • Sports, Fitness and Recreation

We offer a wide variety of programming to members on a daily basis. Some of the programs offered include the following:

POWER HOUR
The "Making Minutes Count" program provides Club professionals with strategies, activities, resources and information to create an engaging homework help and tutoring program that encourages Club members to become self-directed learners.

SMART Moves
A drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention program, "SMART Moves" features engaging, interactive, small group activities that increase participant’s peer support, enhance their life skills, build their resiliency and strengthen their leadership skills.

SMART Girls
Developed for girls age 8-12 and 13-17, "SMART Girls" is a small group program that enhances girls’ physical and emotional well-being and increases their self-esteem. Through highly participatory dynamic sessions, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

Passport to Manhood
"Passport to Manhood" promotes and teaches responsibility for Club boys age 11-14. The program consists of 14 sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. Each Club member who participates in this program is issued a “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth.

Money Matters
Targeted to teen members, "Money Matter" aims to increase members’ knowledge of money management while developing skills needed for a lifetime of financial independence. "Money Matters" utilizes appealing and interactive activities to engage members and enable them to learn by gaining real-life experience and practice through simulated exercises, programs, and events. Participants learn how to open a checking account, budget, save and invest as well as learning about small businesses, paying for college and investing for retirement.

The "Fine Arts" program encourages artistic expression among Club members aged 5-18 through drawing, painting, print making, collage, mixed media and sculpture displayed at local and regional exhibits.
